Singer Miley Cyrus took the time to connect with her audience on June 2 during a surprise show at the Carlyle Hotel’s bar in New York.

The 32-year-old talked about a new beauty regimen after someone complimented her skin. People reported that she mentioned a treatment that might have surprised some of her fans.

"I tried that salmon sperm," she said on Monday. "Have you heard about that? I tried it."

Cyrus then described the salmon sperm as tasting odd and quickly added, "I didn't mean to drink it. It's just like a whole mask."

The Hannah Montana star performed More to Lose and Easy Lover during the surprise show. Both songs are from her new album Something Beautiful. She then ended her set with her hit song Flowers.

"I never met the salmon. It came pre-packaged," Cyrus quipped. "I don't even know if it is what it says it is. I don't know, but I do feel like my skin's looking good."

The Party in the USA songstress attested to the effectiveness of salmon sperm and called it a "100."

Which Celebrities Have Also Tried Salmon Sperm?

We’ve heard A-listers share their skincare routines before, and they mostly involve applying products like moisturizers with glycerin and hyaluronic acid, along with regular use of sunblock.

But fans were shocked when the Kardashians, who are known to be heavily invested in typical red carpet procedures like collagen-boosting Sofwave, also confessed to using the unique salmon sperm treatment.

Khloe Kardashian told her glam team in an episode of The Kardashians that she incorporates salmon sperm into her beauty routine but draws the line at other sea creatures.

"I’m never gonna do whale sperm," she joked in one of the March 2025 episodes.

Her sister, Kim Kardashian, also tried a salmon sperm facial and even had salmon sperm injected into her face in 2024, but she hasn’t commented on whether she’s noticed any changes in her skin since the procedures.

Jennifer Aniston, who may have been the trendsetter for this treatment, shared in an interview with WSJ. Magazine that she had undergone salmon sperm facials before. She was reportedly bewildered when she first learned about it.

But the actress gave an update on the treatment’s effects during a 2024 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! and called it “the future” of anti-aging regimens, suggesting that it may have given her positive results.

Dermatologist Dr. Joshua Zeichner explained in a 2023 interview with Popsugar that "salmon [semen] has been shown to improve skin hydration, plumpness, texture, and wrinkles.”

“The effects on the skin are thought to be due to high DNA levels. DNA is composed of amino acids, which have long been used in skin care for their hydrating and cell-renewing benefits,” the New York-based doctor continued.

While it has become a recent fad among celebrities, very little is still known about procedures that involve salmon sperm, so it’s still better to consult a dermatologist to know which skincare treatment works best for your skin.
