Miley Cyrus put her iconic comebacks, hard grit, and cheeky wit on full display during a recent vinyl signing for a fan named Liam.
Did Miley Cyrus Just Shade Ex Liam Hemsworth in 'Cheeky' Vinyl Autograph?
On Wednesday, June 4, a fan took to X (formerly Twitter) what Miley Cyrus recently signed on their copy of Miley's newest vinyl album, Something Beautiful.
Considering that the fan had the same name as her ex-husband, Liam Hemsworth, the Flowers hitmaker decided to take that pen and subtly hint at what she thought of their past relationship.
The fan captioned the post, "Miley writing 'the Best Liam' on my vinyl," with a picture of Miley signing the right side of the album in cursive.
One fan decided to joke in the comments section, "Thank god she didn't run away when she heard your name hehe," with the original poster replying, "We stared at each other for a few seconds." Check out the original photo below:
But this interaction didn't stop there. Liam, thrilled to have met one of their favorite artists, posted another photo with Miley with the caption referencing the autograph, "Me when I'm the best Liam."
Cyrus and Hemsworth initially met on the set of The Last Song in 2009. In a decade filled with dating, the duo secretly got married in 2018.
However, with a string of their on-again, off-again relationship over the years, they ultimately decided to call it quits by August 2019.
The Hunger Games star Hemsworth filed for divorce, and the two reached an official settlement that finalized their seven-month marriage split in January 2020, citing "irreconcilable differences" over their separate lifestyles.
How are Things Between Miley and Liam, Post-Divorce?
To date, Liam has only said that their divorce is a "private matter" and that "any reported quotes attributed" to him are "false" on August 13, 2019, on his Instagram page.
But to Miley, she described the marriage as a "f***ing disaster" that she wishes her fans would never encounter the same thing.
Specifically, she told this to a gay couple who got engaged while she was performing at Lollapalooza Brazil in 2022: "Honey, I hope your marriage goes better than mine, mine was a f***ing disaster."
But that didn't mean she had no good memories about their time together, which she reminisced about in September 2023.
She detailed how The Last Song movie felt "so special" because as their characters fell in love on-screen, "a chemistry so undeniable" was happening "in real time", too, which was the beginning of their long, 10-year relationship.
Liam sparked dating rumors with his current girlfriend, Gabriella Brooks, in December 2019, before officially introducing her to his parents, Leonie and Craig Hemsworth.
They went public with their romance a year later when they made their appearance at the Gold Dinner 2021 in Australia.
Meanwhile, Miley found hers when she coupled up with Maxx Morando, the drummer for the band Liily, when they first blind-dated in 2021.
Maxx produced two songs on Miley's album, Endless Summer Vacation, and was by her side when she won her first-ever Grammy award in 2024.
