Meghan Markle has stopped talking to her dad, Thomas Markle Sr., after he canceled his attendance at her royal wedding. The Markle patriarch didn't make it because he was recovering after getting heart surgery. The duchess said her dad didn't answer her phone calls. However, royal biographer Lady Colin Campbell claimed that Markle didn't really want her dad's presence on her big day.
Meghan Markle Didn't Want Dad Thomas At Her Royal Wedding
In a new Q&A video uploaded on Lady Colin's YouTube channel, she spoke about Markle's relationship with her estranged dad. According to the royal pundit, Markle may have "manipulated" her father into pulling out of her big day because she didn't want him to be there in the first place.
"She didn't want him at the wedding," Campbell said. "It's quite obvious she didn't want him at the wedding. Had she wanted him at the wedding, she would have had him there before."
She added that Markle was busy "maneuvering and manipulating" so she could have her dad cancel his attendance at the royal wedding at the last minute.
"She didn't want her father, and she created the situation, she orchestrated the whole thing very carefully, so that her father would either not come or if she couldn't pull the dirty well enough, which she managed to do. She drove him into having a heart attack, that's an accomplishment," Campbell said.
Campbell added that if Thomas Sr. made it, she would want him gone as quickly as possible, so no one would get a chance to engage with her father.

Earlier this year, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry sat for an interview with Oprah Winfrey for a CBS special. The Duchess of Sussex claimed that her dad "betrayed" her by talking to the press and lying to her when she asked him about it.
As a parent, herself, Markle said she couldn't imagine intentionally causing pain to her child. So, she couldn't understand why her dad did it to her.
"It's hard for me to reconcile that," she said.

Thoma Markle Sr. Has Been Reaching Out To Her Daughter
Meanwhile, Meghan Markle's dad said that he has been reaching out to his daughter. Thomas Markle Sr. wanted to reconcile with Markle and meet his grandchildren Archie and Lily.
In a previous interview in 2018, Thomas said he feared dying without talking to his daughter. In August, he sent Markle a bouquet of flowers for her 40th birthday. However, he didn't get any response from her.
"That's fine," Thomas Sr. told TMZ about Markle's silent treatment after he sent her a bouquet. "Just hoping she likes the flowers."
