MCU Fans Urge Henry Cavill to Transfer to Marvel Following His Superman Exit

The statement written by Man of Steel star Henry Cavill and posted on Instagram last Thursday has taken the social media world by storm, with every DC fan expressing their disappointment with James Gunn and Warner Bros. for not maintaining Cavill as Superman.

“It's sad news, everyone. I will, after all, not be returning as Superman,” Cavill wrote in his post. “After being told by the studio to announce my return back in October, prior to their hire, this news isn't the easiest, but that's life. I respect that James and Peter have a universe to build. I wish them and all involved with the new universe the best of luck, and the happiest of fortunes.”

Given the detailed statement, fans are furious for the mere fact that Cavill might have been given false hope that he would still be donning his cape following his recent cameo in Black Adam in October. However, whatever promises have been made, it is obviously now a broken vow.

To uplift their morals, fans rallied on social media, demanding Marvel cast Cavill as any of their superheroes, Marvel's Superman, aka Hyperion or Brian Braddock, aka Captain Britain. Read their insights below:

Hyperion, created by Roy Thomas and Sal Buscema, debuted in The Avengers #69 and is often regarded as Marvel's Superman in the fanbase (1969). Hyperion has been both an ally and a foe of the Avengers, sharing a power set and origin with DC's Man of Steel.

Meanwhile, British superhero Brian Braddock made his comic book debut in 1976. Following a car accident, Brian was given the opportunity to live and became Britain's next guardian. Between the amulet of right and the sword of might, he must make a decision. After selecting the amulet, he acquires his superpowers.

With Cavill leaving his role as Geralt of Rivia in the Netflix fantasy series The Witcher in October and now his official departure as Superman, fans are left wondering where the actor will put all of his talent. However, the Sherlock Holmes actor has announced that he will star in and produce a science-fiction Warhammer 40,000 series for Amazon.

In the far-off future depicted in Warhammer 40,000, humanity fights off various extraterrestrial empires, androids, and supernatural forces. More details about the project have yet to be revealed.
