Master in the House 2 Struggles to Keep Ratings up After Lee Seung GI Left the Variety Show

After its three-month hiatus, the SBS entertainment show Master in the House 2 returns but fell short in viewership.

Despite kickstarting the season with new additional members, singer BamBam and former baseball player Lee Dae Ho, the show continue to garner low ratings, leaving some to speculate that it might be due to Lee Seung Gi’s departure.

Master in the House 2’s Viewership Plummets Because of Lee Seung Gi?

In a report cited by a media outlet, Master in the House 2 debuted with 1.9 percent according to Neilsen Korea while the second episode remained in the same percentage, marking a downward trend for the show’s viewership.

To recall, the first season of the SBS entertainment program was within the three to five percent range but the current episode received lower than expected.

Due to the show’s significant chance, others believe that lee Seung Gi’s absence from Master In The House is the main reason behind the program’s bad rating.

Why Did Lee Seung Gi Left Master in the House 2?

The year 2022 is indeed a chaotic year for the triple threat after Lee Seung Gi faced a dispute with his longtime agency, Hook Entertainment.

It came after the talent label failed to give the top star its music revenues for his 18-year career as a singer.

Due to the continued conflict, the actor withdraws his appearance in the SBS entertainment program.

In a report, it says that while one of the reasons includes the singer-actor’s pending settlement controversy with Hook Entertainment, there has been a conflict with his schedule as the actor is set to return to the big screen with a new movie.

The South Korean heartthrob is in the middle of filming the comedy-drama Big Family with Kim Yeon Seok.

Lee Seung Gi even shaved his head to play the role of a monk.

Currently, Master in the House has six members including Yang Se Hyung, Kim Dong Hyun, Eun Jin Won, Kim Do Young, and newcomers BamBam and Lee Dae Ho.
