Marvel's Wonder Man Series Receives Exciting Filming Update

One of the upcoming MCU shows that is currently in the works is the Wonder Man series. For the past couple of months, we've been hearing a lot of updates about the project as they were heading into production including the casting of Aquaman star Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as the titular hero.

However, despite the various casting news that we've been hearing, there are also a lot of questions regarding when they will start filming, especially with the reports that Marvel Studios is currently reevaluating its future slate and plans to reduce its output per year unlike in Phase Four.

Now, after being in pre-production for months, we finally have the exciting update on its filming as executive producer Destin Daniel Cretton confirmed on Instagram that the Wonder Man series has begun production by posting a photo of himself with a color chart while the iconic Hollywood sign is in his backdrop.

So far, the plot details of the series remain under wraps. It will mark the MCU introduction of Simon Williams, an actor who has a variety of superpowers such as superhuman strength, speed, agility, stamina, reflexes, ionic-energy physiology, and many more.

The cast also includes Ben Kingsley (reprising his role of Trevor Slattery), Demetrius Grosse, and Lauren Glazier. There are also reports that Ed Harris and Werner Herzog have also joined the cast in mystery roles although none of the major trades nor Marvel themselves have confirmed it.
