Marvel's The Eternals Wants to Cast Salma Hayek for Unspecified Role

Marvel's The Eternals is set to be one of the company's more interesting films since it will focus on cosmic beings that are essentially gods. While movies like Thor tackled the concept decently, this film is expected to be more of an all-star film, rather than focusing on a singular character. It seems like Marvel wants some big names for this interesting movie, reportedly going to Keanu Reeves and now Selma Hayek.

According to The Wrap, Marvel is eyeing Hayek for a big role in the movie, though it's not clear if talks have started or if the actress has already accepted it. It will be interesting to see who they cast Hayek as, though it's easy enough to assume that she will play Sersi or Thena, though the former will get a lot of Game of Thrones comparisons.

We're still waiting for more firm details about the movie, though that probably won't come until after Spider-Man: Far From Home has hit theaters for a number of days/weeks. Fans are going to be interested in this based on the Marvel name alone, though a lot of people who grew up with comics are going to be happy seeing Jack Kirby's creations in live-action.

Plus, the Neil Gaiman maxi-series is still fairly popular with some fans. It seems like the film will be based on that, though they could surprise us.

No release date for The Eternals has been revealed.
