Marvel’s Head Says the Pandemic Only Changed One Particular Phase Four Element

The COVID-19 has truly impacted multiple film and television productions. This resulted in some productions being changed, modified, or even removed. One of the biggest movie franchises in the world, Marvel, has to establish continuity in its universe. This makes it intriguing as to how the pandemic impacted Marvel's plans in its entirety.

According to Marvel President Kevin Feige, the pandemic only twisted one element of their Phase Four plans. In an interview with On The Red Carpet, Feige revealed some Easter eggs in Black Widow which is Marvel Studios' first theatrical release in two years.

An Easter egg included in the film was to appear first in Black Widow before showing up in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. However, the pandemic didn't allow this Easter egg to take its original plan. Feige stated that this is the only thing that was twisted in Marvel's Phase 4 due to the pandemic. He added that fans who saw The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will see the Easter egg in Black Widow.

Feige didn't reveal the Easter egg but it may probably be related to the character Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus). Valentina debuted in the MCU through The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. After Valentina showed up in the Disney+ series, it was revealed that the character was supposed to come out first in Black Widow. Her first outing in the MCU was changed after the film was delayed multiple times due to the pandemic.

Black Widow will be released on July 7, 2021.
