Marvel’s Avengers Gives Us Our First Look At Ms. Marvel

We might have just gotten our very first look at Miss Marvel in Square Enix and Marvel Entertainment's new videogame, Marvel's Avengers.

Square Enix just released a video featuring about twenty minutes of gameplay footage from Marvel's Avengers early this morning, and while barely anything in the footage seems new considering the fact that the video's been featured at this year's San Diego Comic-Con, this is the first time that the video has been made public. Following the A-Day tutorial prologue featured in the upcoming videogame, the video gives us our very first look of what appears to be Kamala Khan – a hero otherwise known as Ms. Marvel.

This is pretty exciting news. While gamers were hoping to see Ms. Marvel in Marvel's Avengers, the hero was never actually confirmed to be in the game. Sure, there was a lot of speculation that Kamala Khan would make an appearance in the game after descriptions of the gameplay footage from SDCC surfaced online. However, the only thing that Square Enix did confirm was that the videogame would feature a lengthy five-year time jump where the Avengers have to assemble themselves right after a devastating disaster comes out of "an experimental energy source."

Now that we have the video online though, we've got official confirmation. At the 17:30 mark of the gameplay footage we get to see the very familiar face of Ms. Marvel.

For those who have yet to be introduced to the hero, Marvel's website describes Kamala Khan as a Captain Marvel fan who never dreamed that she'd have the opportunity to join her heroes in safeguarding society from the forces of evil. "A Pakistani-American growing up in Jersey City," Kamala Khan is a hero "with an Inhuman ability to alter shape and size, the newest Ms. Marvel employs an idealistic attitude as much as any power to make the world a better place."

Now, the only question is whether Ms. Marvel is going to be a playable character in Marvel's Avengers.

Marvel's Avengers is set for release on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC and Google Stadia on May 15, 2020.
