Marvel Theory Predicts Hulk to Become the MCU’s Biggest Villain

Marvel may have yet to reveal its plans for the Hulk after turning Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) into the Smart Hulk in Avengers: Endgame, however, it seems like there are fans who believe that the Avenger may very well turn into a villain in Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

According to a report by Hindustan Times, a new Marvel fan theory is making the rounds suggesting that Bruce Banner may very well become a villain as Marvel approaches Phase 4 of the MCU. Though we don't really see the character taking a dark trajectory, the theory builds itself on World War Hulk, a comic book series where Bruce Banner becomes resentful towards former Avenger allies like Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) and Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch). Carrying a grudge against his friends, the Hulk vows to take the Avengers down.

This new fan theory suggests that Bruce may very well end up blaming Tony Stark for the death of Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson) in Endgame, later on choosing to rampage against the Avengers in the next phase of the MCU.

As interesting as it may seem to have a Dark Hulk fighting against the Avengers in future MCU movies, that doesn't seem to be the trajectory for the character. Not once did Bruce blame Tony for Black Widow's death in Endgame.

We're more likely to believe that Bruce Banner is going to teach his cousin Jessica Walters how to deal with her Hulk powers when he appears in the She-Hulk series for Disney+.

She-Hulk has yet to receive a release date but we'll update fans as soon as we get word.
