There's no denying that Elizabeth Olsen's popularity has skyrocketed over the last couple of years and Marvel Studios definitely took notice. After playing second fiddle since her Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2015, the Wanda Maximoff actress was finally given the spotlight, becoming one of the headlining characters of the billion-dollar franchise's fourth phase.

However, it seems like the 33-year-old star is stepping away from the MCU limelight at least for the time being. Following her involvement in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, it was rumored that Olsen was taking a Marvel hiatus to shift her focus back to doing independent films, the genre that made her a household name in Hollywood.

Naturally, this raised concern within the fandom with many people convinced that we've seen the last of the Scarlet Witch. Well, it looks like Wanda will continue to be an integral part of the MCU.

According to a recent scoop from insider Daniel Richtman, Olsen isn't taking a break from the MCU contrary to the most recent rumor. While her return as the Harbinger of Chaos has yet to be determined, the report claims the studio is still actively developing her solo Scarlet Witch project. Of course, Kevin Feige still has the final say about things so it's best to take this one with a grain of salt.

It would be safe to assume that Wanda will somehow be involved in the upcoming Agatha: Coven of Chaos series which is currently eyeing a Winter 2023 premiere. But the most logical way for her to return is during the Multiverse Saga's penultimate film Avengers: Secret Wars

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is available to stream on Disney+.
