Marvel Officially Acknowledges Natalie Portman as 'Other' Thor in New Poster

If it still wasn't clear enough, Thor: Love and Thunder promises to be a massive changing of the guard in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Not only will it see the God of Thunder turn away from his "Avenging" duties, taking on a new life outside New Asgard, but it will also mark the stunning transformation of Jane Foster as the "new" God, or should we say Goddess of Thunder.

Not counting her brief cameo in one of Avengers: Endgame's time travel scenes, it's been nearly 10 years since we last saw Natalie Portman in the MCU and while she previously expressed that she's no longer interested in returning to the franchise, her current role as the Mighty Thor is just too tempting to just pass up.

Now, Marvel is hyping up the arrival of the franchise's newest female hero and they're embracing Jane's role as the "other" Thor. The 40-year-old actress took to her official Instagram page to unveil a breathtaking alternate poster for Thor: Love and Thunder which sees Foster wield the reforged, and possibly more powerful Mjolnir. The new poster even has the line "the one is not the only" written on it, pretty much mocking the original poster which hailed Odinson as "the one and only". Check it out here:

There's been a lot of speculation surrounding Jane Foster and her role in the film, with some fans convinced that she's actually from a different universe because you know, "multiverse". But judging by the Mjolnir she's carrying which obviously resembles the one Hela destroyed in Thor: Ragnarok, it's already safe to say that she is in fact the same Jane we knew from years back.

Thor: Love and Thunder is currently slated for release on July 8, 2022.
