Marvel's Ironheart Has Found Its Directors

One of the many MCU shows that are currently in the works is Ironheart which will focus on Riri Williams, a genius inventor who creates the most advanced suit of armor since Iron Man who will soon be introduced in the upcoming film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. While the exact plot details are under wraps as usual, we are starting to hear more updates regarding the people who will be involved in the series as they gearing up for production very soon. Now, it looks like the show has found its directors.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sam Bailey and Angela Barnes have been hired to direct Ironheart. Bailey will direct episodes one to three while Barnes will helm the back half, episodes four to six. They also reported that Ryan Coogler's Proximity Media is confirmed to have joined the creative team of the series which was already previously revealed by one of its stars.

The cast includes Dominique Thorne, Anthony Ramos, Lyric Ross, and Harper Anthony. Chinaka Hodge serves as the head writer. Coogler, along with his Proximity Media cohorts Zinzi Coogler and Sev Ohanian, will serve as executive producers alongside Hodge, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, and Zoie Nagelhout.

Bailey previously directed episodes of TV shows such as The Chi, Grown-ish, First Wives Club, and Dear White People while Barnes' previous credits are episodes of TV shows such as Legacies, One Day at a Time, Mythic Quest, and Blindspotting.

It's always great to hear news such as this as it just shows that they are moving forward with the series and the hiring of directors is evidence that they are currently deep into pre-production. The directors that they hired are also experienced in helming television so the series is going to be in good hands. Marvel has a great track record when it comes to the filmmakers that they are hiring and perhaps they were impressed with their vision which is why they gave them the job. This is also definitely a huge opportunity for them as they are stepping into the biggest movie franchise today.
