Marvel And Disney Will Not Recast Hawkeye After Jeremy Renner Scandal

It looks like Jeremy Renner will get to keep his job after all. A new report reveals that Marvel and Disney have decided against recasting Clint Barton in the upcoming Hawkeye series despite the recent allegations made by Renner's ex-wife.

A new report from The Independent reveals that Disney has decided against recasting the role of Hawkeye in the Disney+ series. This means that Renner is expected to continue playing Clint in the Marvel show and could even reprise the role in more Marvel Cinematic Universe films.

It was previously reported that Renner's ex-wife Sonni Pacheco claimed that the Avengers: Endgame star threatened to kill her before killing himself. In addition to that, Renner was reportedly intoxicated throughout their relationship. However, the actor has denied all allegations and says that Pacheco is an "unstable liar." The two are currently fighting over the custody of their six-year-old daughter Ava.

Renner's representative released a statement about the case.

"The well-being of his daughter Ava has always been and continues to be the primary focus for Mr Renner," the representative said. "This is a matter for the court to decide. It's important to note the dramatisations made in Ms Pacheco's declaration are a one-sided account made with a specific goal in mind."

It's a messy situation for Renner and his former partner. Nevertheless, we're hoping that everything is settled as soon as possible.

For now, the Hawkeye series has not yet been given an official release date. However, it is expected to air on Disney+ in 2021.
