Mark Hamill Reminds Fans that Star Wars is for Everyone

It's no mystery that the Star Wars fanbase is one that's filled with gatekeepers, and the recent movies have been bashed by ‘true fans' for not pandering to them. Luke Skywalker Mark Hamill is known to back the fans from time to time, but he shares this cool video proving that Star Wars is a franchise for everyone.

The woman in the video is actually Michelle C. Smith, and she's a stuntperson who has worked on shows like Supergirl, Arrow, Deadpool, Supernatural, and a lot more. After this endorsement from Hamill though, what are the chances she could actually make it working for Lucasfilm?

There have been a lot of arguments online about who Star Wars is really for, but I think the reason for the franchise being as successful as it is was because people of every age, race, or gender could find something to identify with. While boys loved Luke or the space battles, there were little girls who fell in love with Leia and Rey. What even constitutes a ‘true' Star Wars fan?

For now, the main Skywalker storyline is set to close with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Mark Hamill is set to return as Luke, but a lot are reading the title to mean that the name of Skywalker will change in meaning, or that this marks the redemption of Ben Solo. Until the film comes out, all we can really do is guess.

Catch Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker in theaters Dec. 20.
