Margot Robbie Shares Update on Possible Birds of Prey 2

It's no secret that Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) was an awesome trip into the mind of the DC comic book heroine that also turned into a blockbuster. So when can we expect a sequel? Margot Robbie has just shared an update on a possible Birds of Prey 2 but it doesn't sound very hopeful.

Robbie was recently interviewed by The Hollywood Reporter along with her LuckyChap Entertainment partners Tom Ackerley and Josey McNamara. Not surprisingly, the conversation turned to Robbie's DC projects that might include a Birds of Prey sequel but she was quick to shoot down the speculations.

"I don't know," Robbie said. "Nothing imminent at this stage, nothing worth mentioning."

That doesn't sound very promising but fans believe that DC and Warner Bros. might be waiting for the release of Robbie's other film. After all, Harley is expected to return in The Suicide Squad so an official announcement might be made after that movie is released.

The first Birds of Prey film also starred Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Rosie Perez, Chris Messina, Ella Jay Basco, Ali Wong, and Ewan McGregor. There are speculations that a second film will focus on Winstead's Huntress, Smollett-Bell's Black Canary and Perez's Renee Montoya. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.

Robbie will reprise her role as Harley Quinn in The Suicide Squad, which is currently scheduled for release on August 6, 2021.
