#MakeSolo2Happen Floods Twitter on Solo: A Star Wars Story Anniversary

While a lot of people online are still celebrating the official announcement of Zack Snyder's Justice League, there's a chunk of the Star Wars fandom that has been asking for Lucasfilm to bring them a sequel for Solo: A Star Wars Story. On the second anniversary of that film, a campaign has come out on Twitter to try and #MakeSolo2Happen.

The hashtag has surpassed 15k tweets, and the realistic goal for today is to get past 20k. I mean, they're not #ReleaseTheSnyderCut numbers, but you have to love the fans for their passion and love for the film.

Though Solo is the first Disney Star Wars film to underperform in the box office, a lot of people forget that it's not because the film was bad at all. In fact, a lot of people who saw it actually love the film. I personally think it's better than The Rise of Skywalker.

When it comes to the film underperforming, you can actually thank Disney for that. Word has it that Lucasfilm had wanted to push the release back to December after they lost directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller, but Disney declined, forcing the May release date. What's more, the marketing for the film was watered down because Disney wanted all the focus on the release of Avengers: Infinity War.

Solo's failure had led to multiple anthology films being cancelled, and it's likely the reason why Star Wars is taking a hiatus in theaters. Hopefully we do get a return to this world of scum and villainy, because I really loved Alden Ehrenreich's Han Solo, and I would love to see how the arc ends with Qi'Ra and Maul.

Tweet #MakeSolo2Happen and try to bring this fanboy dream into a reality.
