It doesn't look like Maisee Williams is too happy with 20th Century Fox's New Mutants movie. Echoing the same frustrations aired out by her co-star Anya Taylor-Joy, the Game of Thrones actress now comes out with f-bombs against the X-men franchise's New Mutants movie.
Speaking in an interview with the Rolling Stone, Williams isn't afraid to show just how frustrated she is with the project. New Mutants is currently trapped in corporate limbo, a side effect of Disney's acquisition of 21st Century Fox and the studio's various film and television assets.
"Who knows when the fuck that's gonna come out," the actress responds when asked about the status of New Mutants.
Apparently, the project was supposed to have a few reshoots to make the film "scarier," however none of these have actually taken place. According to Williams, she saw one of her New Mutants co-stars, Charlie Heaton, the other day, and so she just had to ask "What the fuck is going on with this movie?"
Heaton didn't know either, unfortunately.
"Hopefully this interview will make everyone hurry up a little bit!" Williams told the publication.
It's such a shame that New Mutants is stuck in limbo. It must be frustrating to see a film caught in the crossfire of a company acquisition, stalling its release despite the fact that the project's already completed principal photography.
Right now New Mutants is still on schedule for its August 2, 2019 release, however, with the way things are turning out, it wouldn't be quite surprising to hear the film getting delayed.
