Mahershala Ali Remains Committed to Star in Blade Despite Recent Pushback

For the past few weeks, we've been hearing reports of setbacks in the production of Blade as a result of the exit of director Bassam Tariq which now led to its delay of filming to next year and changing its release to 2024. With all these setbacks and changes, a lot of fans are wondering if Mahershala Ali is still on-board to play the titular vampire hunter.

In a recent report from SlashFilm regarding the film's delay, they reported that Ali is still committed to starring in the project and will now also help on shaping the film's creative direction. They also added that they heard that one of the reasons behind the delay is to incorporate more rewrites based on Ali's requests.

With the project currently in limbo, this is definitely an assurance that fans needed regarding the film's main key player, especially since they've been looking forward to this project which started way back when Ali's casting was announced in July 2019 at San Diego Comic-Con.
