Star Wars might be moving on from the Skywalker saga with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, but that doesn't mean that fans have to move on from the Skywalkers as quickly as they should. Lucasfilm is working on a Star Wars manga, and it looks like it's going to put the spotlight on everyone's favorite Jedi, Luke Skywalker.
According to a report Screen Rant, Viz Media LLC (a company that specializes in manga publication and anime distribution) is currently working on bringing the Star Wars franchise with a long list of Japanese graphic novels, including Star Wars: The Legends of Luke Skywalker: The Manga. This manga is supposed to be an anthology collection of Star Wars short stories to be produced by a team of experienced creators that include The Legend of Zelda manga creator Akira Himekawa as well as Haruichi, the creator behind popular Japanese Star Wars webcomic Leia Organa: Ordeal of a Princess.
The Legends of Luke Skywalker is set to feature various stories revolving around the Jedi Master, allowing readers to decide for themselves whether or not these myths are true. The manga is an adaptation of Ken Liu's (a Nebula, Hugo, and World Fantasy award-winning author) Star Wars novel, Journey to Star Wars: The Last Jedi – The Legends of Luke Skywalker.

"As a cargo ship rockets across the galaxy to Canto Bight, the deckhands on board trade stories about legendary Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker. But are the stories of iconic and mysterious Luke Skywalker true, or merely tall tales passed from one corner of the galaxy to another? Is Skywalker really a famous Jedi hero, an elaborate charlatan, or even part droid? The deckhands will have to decide for themselves when they hear The Legends of Luke Skywalker. A collection of myths and tall-tales about the legendary Jedi Luke Skywalker, written by Nebula, Hugo, and World Fantasy award-winning author Ken Liu."
The series isn't the first time that Star Wars has encountered manga, but we're excited anyway to see Luke enter the world of Japanese comics.
Star Wars: The Legends of Luke Skywalker: The Manga arrives in early 2020.
