Lucifer Season 6 Possibly Confirmed as Series EPs Sign New Deal With Netflix

It looks like the end isn't happening for Lucifer Morningstar just yet. A new report reveals that Lucifer may have been renewed for Season 6 after its showrunners signed new deals with Netflix.

The report comes from TVLine, which confirms that co-showrunners Ildy Modrovich and Joe Henderson have signed on to work on Lucifer Season 6. Amazingly, this could mean that the series has escaped certain death for the second time.

So is Lucifer Season 6 officially moving forward? Interestingly, there's one more hurdle to tackle and it's probably the biggest one for the show. It was also revealed that leading man Tom Ellis has not yet signed on for another season after the fifth one. The report states that "negotiations between the actor and Warner Bros. Television continue and all sides are expecting a positive outcome."

At this point, we're hoping that Warner Bros. Television will do anything in their power to please Ellis. After all, the show simply isn't going to work without Lucifer himself. Hopefully, we'll get some great news in the next few days.

Lucifer was first cancelled by Fox after three short seasons before it was rescued by Netflix. The series enjoyed a successful Season 4 and the streaming giant originally renewed it for a fifth and final season with 16 episodes. Not surprisingly, Netflix may have realized that the show has a lot of potentials and is hoping to extend it for yet another year.

Lucifer Season 5 has not yet been given an official release date but is expected to premiere on Netflix later this year.
