Lucasfilm Shows Off Epic Star Wars Effects In New Promo Reel

Star Wars has done so much for the cinema. Not only has it advanced the science fantasy film genre, but it's also helped further the Hollywood industry with all sorts of new filmmaking techniques that George Lucas and Lucasfilm have developed over the years.

Last weekend, Lucasfilm decided to post a brand new reel showcasing the work that's been put into the development of the films produced by the companies created by George Lucas. Not only did the Star Wars creator found Lucasfilm, but he also created Industrial Light & Magic as well as Skywalker Sound, two different companies that help bring stories to life. This new video puts the spotlight into these different companies and the work that they do to produce films for Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and other movies from other major franchises.

"The incredible thing about Lucasfilm is everyone is working around the same story ideas, the same values. Everybody involved sets the bar high in terms of quality," a voice that we believe belongs to Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy says during the opening of the video.

Though it doesn't really future anything new, the reel makes use of a few of the more recent Star Wars entries like Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Solo: A Star Wars Story, and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. One thing's for sure, Lucasfilm, Industrial Light & Magic, and Skywalker Sound, all do so much to bring Star Wars to life. We can't wait to see what these companies have done for Episode IX.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker premieres December 20, 2019.
