Lucasfilm Reportedly Tied To New Studio In London

It looks like Lucasfilm is going through a few changes in London right now.

According to a report by Fantha Tracks, word on the street says that a studio in London had just been registered a few weeks ago under the name Barking Lion Productions (UK) Limited. The studio is rather large, measuring 200,000 square feet. It's set to open at the end of the year under the name East Brook Studios and word says that the studio is going to house a center of excellence for the (BFI) British Film Institute and for the London Film School.

According to the publication, rumors also say that Lucasfilm and Disney have been linked to the site since March 2019 with many speculating a future Star Wars movie. That, or Indiana Jones 5, or maybe one of Disney's upcoming movies for Disney+.

Though this report doesn't really involve a major new movie, it does show us that the Mickey Mouse House is making efforts at expanding. We can't really wait to learn what kind of movies Disney plans to make at the East Brook Studios and how it's going to help the studio produce more films for its many different franchises.

Will this studio be focused on Star Wars? Or will it take Marvel projects under its wing too? Will it open itself to a few of Disney's upcoming live-action remakes?

Let's wait and see.

Star Wars next film, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, premieres December 20, 2019.
