The Lifetimes tour artist and the former Prime Minister of Canada have reportedly called it off before things got too serious, and at good timing, too.
Apart from the fact that both parties have busy schedules, Trudeau has been uncomfortable with the spotlight that comes with dating the pop star.

Their Montreal date went viral after the duo was snapped last month, and the intimate dinner date prompted him to later attend her sold-out Lifetimes tour stop in Canada. However, according to the Daily Mail, their status has gone from limitless texting to "waning in the past two weeks" in July.
"She's busy, he's busy," an insider told the outlet, "They have a lot going on, and the newness has worn off."
However, the source also mentioned that there was "nothing negative" about calling it off between them. "They just aren't in constant communication anymore. That could change, but for now, it is what it is. It has cooled off."
It remains to be seen whether this marks the end of their romantic pursuit, but for now, as the reports have stated, they're off each other's calendars.

It wasn't long before Perry found herself in the dating world after just breaking off her engagement with Orlando Bloom, the father of their daughter, Daisy Dove. As previous sources said, Perry wasn't looking to settle down so soon and wanted to mingle. Meanwhile, Trudeau had another problem brewing.
Trudeau was reportedly bothered by the massive attention their dinner date received. He wasn't "thrilled about the pictures getting out", the source said. "It was a first date. A first date! And these pictures came out, and it became this huge thing, which is not what he seems to have wanted."

The source noted Trudeau was "not prepared" for all the attention that comes with dating the pop star sensation, "It can be a lot and it can be overwhelming."
As of current, a second source told the news outlet that they are "just friends." As Perry admitted previously, she wanted to focus on healing from her separation from Orlando, while Trudeau is on a journey of finding himself outside of his role as prime minister.
