- Quick Answer: The Gentlemen Season 3 enters production with Lord of the Rings stars Elijah Wood and Orlando Bloom joining as Eddie and Susie build a Middle East casino.
The upcoming third season of The Gentlemen will feature a reunion between two stars of The Lord of the Rings trilogy.
Before the second season premiered last month, Netflix had already renewed the hit crime dramedy series for a third season. Fans have been looking forward to seeing what they have in store for the next installment and which actors are joining the cast.
And now, it looks like the next season will have a Middle-earth reunion.
Elijah Wood and Orlando Bloom Join The Gentlemen Season 3
Variety confirmed that Elijah Wood and Orlando Bloom are joining the cast of the third season of The Gentlemen, which is currently in production.
Details regarding the roles that they are playing are still under wraps. This will mark a reunion between the two stars of The Lord of the Rings trilogy, although it remains unknown whether they will share the screen together.
Also joining the third season are Dexter Fletcher, Bruna Marquezine, Ed Speleers, Saffron Burrows, and Bugzy Malone.
There were previous rumors that Meghan Markle, who is moving back to the UK with Prince Harry, is also joining the series, but her name was missing from the announcement.
Wood and Bloom's casting might excite some fans, given that this is the first time they are working together since The Lord of the Rings trilogy more than 20 years ago (although they have reunited throughout the years at events and special occasions).
What to Expect in The Gentlemen Season 3
The logline for The Gentlemen season 3 reads: "Eddie and Susie embark upon their most audacious project yet: building a casino in the Middle East. But with danger lurking around every corner, has the Duke’s unchecked ambition finally gone too far?"
Returning cast members include Theo James, Kaya Scodelario, Ray Winstone, Joely Richardson, Vinnie Jones, Jasmine Blackborow, Harry Goodwins, Benjamin Clementine, and Maya Jama.
However, Daniel Ings and Giancarlo Esposito will not be returning in the third season.
Executive producer and director Guy Ritchie teased in the announcement: "The ambition of The Gentlemen has accelerated, the world has expanded, and the consequences carry weight. A third season felt inevitable, and I’m looking forward to pushing the boundaries of it further."
There is no release window set yet for the third season of The Gentlemen, but there is a possibility that it will premiere in late 2027.
