It looks like the Loki series is coming a lot sooner than you think. Tom Hiddleston has just announced the new and earlier release date of the highly anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe series in an awesome video.

The Loki announcement video opens with a tease at the Big Three (Captain America, Iron Man, and Thor) when Hiddleston suddenly interrupts. He then points out that there are usually "long superhero montages" focusing on the other characters while the God of Mischief is pushed aside.

Naturally, Hiddleston states that Loki himself is "incredibly heroic" ("arguably," he says) as well as cunning and charming. He then decides that it's not enough that he simply talks about it and claims it's better to just prove it. "Wednesdays are the new Fridays," Hiddleston declares.

We then get the new Loki release date which is only two days before its original premiere date. That means that fans will need to tune in on Wednesday, June 9 to see the God of Mischief's return.

There is little doubt that the change in release date has a lot to do with Disney's upcoming releases. For instance, The Bad Batch, which just premiered yesterday, will be moving to Fridays and has been confirmed to have 16 episodes. Counting off that number, this would mean that the two shows will clash on Friday, June 11.

The Star Wars show isn't the only thing to worry about. With Black Widow premiering in theaters and on Disney+ on Friday, July 9, Loki would have to compete with the MCU flick. However, it will be safe and without competition on Wednesdays.

Loki is now scheduled to premiere on Disney+ on June 9.
