After over two years filled with intrigue and anticipation, Marvel Studios finally released the second season of Loki much to the delight of MCU diehards who have missed the God of Mischief's shenanigans.
However, instead of pulling his usual antics and outsmarting the people around him, Loki has fallen victim to the tricks of the Time Variance Authority and for the first time in his life, the trickster has become the tricked.
Loki Season 2: Closing Moments Leave Fans Incredibly Intrigued; Who Pruned Loki?
Season 2's opening salvo pretty much felt like a full-blown finale from the get-go because of the stakes placed on the table. Picking up where the first season left off, Loki is out to expose the Time Variance Authority and convince the members of the organization that not everything they thought they knew about the TVA was real.
The God of Mischief has one problem though, he's been time-slipping between different points in the wondrous realm. Thankfully, he reunites with Mobius in the correct timeline and the dynamic duo seeks help from a new face to stop the anomaly.
Mobius then takes Loki to the Department of Repairs and Advancement where they meet Ouroboros aka "OB" (played by Ke Huy Quan) who knows a thing or two about Loki's condition. OB reveals that in order for him to stop time-slipping, they will need a temporal aura extractor to use in the Temporal Loom.
OB tells Loki that he must prune himself to stop the anomaly, a risk he is willing to take. However, as Mobius heads into the Temporal Loom to begin the process, Loki once again time slips, presumably in the future, where he stumbles upon Sylvie (played by Sophia Di Martino).
Their reunion was cut short though as someone pruned Loki for the second time but the question is, who exactly did that to Loki? Obviously, there are several characters who could've done it but the ongoing theory right now is that Loki (his future self, at least) pruned himself, and considering how time slipping works, the entire idea seems plausible.
