Loki season two is done filming and is currently in post-production. It was originally supposed to come out this summer, but Marvel Studios gave it a vague update after changing the release date to "coming soon." Additionally, one of the series stars, Owen Wilson, previously hinted that the series is likely to be released in September.

The returning cast has already been announced, including Tom Hiddleston in the titular role, Sophia Di Martino's Sylvie, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw's Ravonna, among others. However, it seems like a new addition is coming his way in the series; Blindspotting‘s Rafael Casal was seen on set, yet Disney has yet to announce him as part of the ensemble.

“I’m allegedly joining, but if I were joining, I would be proud to wear that banner, working with those people would be a blessing — a fantastic experience, I would imagine. I heard from him. I don’t necessarily have first-hand experience… Tom Hiddleston, I hear, is a joy — just a dream to work with. Fantastic, from what I’ve heard.” Casal said to Variety when he was asked about his MCU role.

Loki follows the God of Mischief as the first anti-hero to have his series. During Season 1, he learned he was supposed to die at the hands of Thanos after Asgard was destroyed. He met and became friends with Sylvie, his female version, who took him on a journey to overthrow the TVA. When Season 1 ended, Loki returned to the TVA to discover he was in an alternate universe.

Marvel Studios producer Stephen Broussard revealed that Loki season 2 would begin "with the new, heroic arc for Loki." This was a noteworthy moment in Loki's character growth in the MCU. Broussard's comments indicate a significant future for Loki. If he continues to expand in this manner, Loki may return to combat alongside his former adversaries and Asgardian brother, Thor, against Kang the Conqueror and his various versions in Phase 6.

Loki Season 2 has yet to receive an official release date, but Season 1 is streaming now, exclusively on Disney+.
