Logan Director 'Throws Shade' at Ryan Reynolds Following Hugh Jackman Wolverine Return in Deadpool 3

In case you missed it, Hugh Jackman is reprising his role as Wolverine in Deadpool 3. Not surprisingly, people are delighted to know that the mutant will be joining Ryan Reynolds in the highly anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe sequel. However, it looks like James Mangold isn't as impressed as the rest of us. The Logan director just posted a gif that seemingly reiterates that Wolverine should stay dead.

On Tuesday, Ryan Reynolds shared a special video announcing that Hugh Jackman has agreed to return as Wolverine in Deadpool 3. Soon after the video was dropped, James Mangold tweeted out a gif from Logan where the clone stabs the original mutant.

The tweet was immediately interpreted by fans as Mangold's declaration that Wolverine died in Logan and should remain dead to honor the film. However, it turns out that the filmmaker was just joking and is fully supporting Deadpool 3.

In a follow-up tweet, Mangold pointed out that he is "all good" and that "Logan will always be there." He then added that he is already looking forward to the "madness" that Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are going to "cook up" in Deadpool 3.

It's great to know that James Mangold is supporting Deadpool 3 and we're all looking forward to Hugh Jackman's return in the MCU sequel.

For now, Deadpool 3 has not yet been given an official release date but is already expected to begin production soon. So far, the only confirmed stars are Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman but there is a huge possibility that Zazie Beetz will be back as Domino as well. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.

Deadpool 3 is the third installment of the Ryan Reynolds film series. It will also be the first one that will be produced by Marvel Studios.
