Live-Action Cowboy Bebop Casts Agents of SHIELD's Lorelei as Julia

The main cast for Netflix's live-action Cowboy Bebop was pretty complete, but the show has just cast one of the more integral characters in Spike Spiegel's journey. Just in, the film has found someone to play Spike's love interest, Julia.

According to IGN, Elena Satine has been cast in the series. While she is best known for her role in Strange Angels, Marvel fans may recognize Satine as Lorelei from Agents of SHIELD.

Here's the official description for Julia's character: "With a sultry beauty and a voice to die for, Julia is the dream-like object of Spike Spiegel's desire. She struggles to survive in a violent world."

At this point, I'm not really surprised that Julia got cast very late into the project. After all, she's more of an accessory to Spike's story, and she's just there to keep Spike tied to Vicious. We don't really know that much about her character besides her connection with Spike.

If I'm being honest, the character I'm waiting on the casting decision for is "Radical" Edward. Though she joins the crew late into the series, she's still considered one of the main members. Though she is ridiculously wacky in the anime, I would expect the series to tone down her quirkiness to make the character feel a bit more real.

Going back to Satine though, she'll be joining a cast which includes the likes of John Cho (Spike), Daniella Padilla (Faye Valentine), Mustafa Shakir (Jet), and Alex Hassell (Vicious). Hopefully, Ed gets cast before the year ends.

No release date has been set for Cowboy Bebop, but hopefully, we can get the series on Netflix sometime in 2020.
