While some of the smash hit K-dramas are based on webtoon, the upcoming series Little Women which stars Kim Go Eun is from the popular novel of the same name written by Louisa May Alcott.
Interestingly, since this will be the first time that it will be adapted into a K-Drama, the series will have a modern take on the beloved novel.
Helmed by Kim Hee Won of hit series like Money Flower, Fated to Love You, Vincenzo, and Soundtrack #1, Kim Go Eun’s new drama revolves around three siblings who grew up in poverty and get swept up in a major incident involving South Korea’s wealthiest family.

Joining Kim Go Eun as lead stars are Nam Ji Hyun and Park Ji Hoo as her siblings.
In addition, viewers get to see Wi Ha Joon from Netflix's Squid Game as well as The Penthouse star Uhm Ki Joon and Uhm Ji Won from Cruel Intern.
In Little Women, Kim Go Eun took the role of the eldest sister Oh In Joo. After growing up in a poor environment, her only dream is to give her family a comfortable life.
With money, she would be able to get her family out of poverty; hence she strives to become an accountant
As for the middle child, Nam Ji Hyun plays Oh In Kyung, the second from the eldest.
While her dream is to become a news reporter, she doesn't kneel for money and would do things in the right way.
However, because of her career, she finds a mysterious incident and begins uncovering the trutth.
The youngest in the Oh family is In Hye, portrayed by Park Ji Hu.
Viewers might recognize this up-and-coming actress as she headlined the hit K-zombie series All of Us Are Dead.
Being the youngest, she witnessed how her family struggled to make ends meet. To pay them back, she managed to enter a prestigious art school through a scholarship.
Release Date and Where to Watch Little Women?
As the network gears up by teasing viewers with intriguing still cuts and official posters, tvN announces the premiere date of the upcoming series.
Little Women release date is set to air on September 3 and will be the newest Saturday and Sunday night K-drama.
It can be watched via tvN and will also be available on Netflix.
Kim Go Eun and Nam Ji Hyun on their New Roles for Little Women
According to Soompi, Nam Ji Hyun decides to join the K-drama because of the script.
“The distinct differences in the characters of the three sisters were attractive, and at the end of each episode, I wondered what would happen next,” she explained.
As the actress described her character, she said that her role Oh In Kyung is the “most persistent, rational, passionate, and outspoken character” she has ever portrayed.
In a separate report, Kim Go Eun said that she enjoyed reading the script and working with her co-stars.
As for her character Oh In Joo, the actress highlighted how she “lives her life by loving, expressing, and doing her best in her own way,”, especially for her family.
