According to her Wikipedia page, the 28-year-old star started acting in school plays, but she credited the 2006 movie Akeelah and the Bee as her inspiration to become a professional actress.

At 16, she attended the Identity School of Acting and appeared in Holby City and Top Boy in 2011.

She then played a small role in My Brother the Devil in 2012 and became Screen International’s 2021 Stars of Tomorrow.

She then appeared in Danai Gurira-written play Eclipsed. She led an episode of Black Mirror, Black Museum, earning a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie in 2017.

After a year, she joined the MCU and did Black Panther, winning the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Breakthrough Performance in a Motion Picture.

Letitia Wright’s COVID-19 Controversy

Letitia Wright formally returned to Instagram in October 2021 after almost a year of social media hiatus.

Her last post on the platform was on November 30, 2020, re-tweeting an anti-vaccination video.

In an interview with Variety, she suddenly said,

"I've learned that in life, you just have to keep going strong with what you believe in, in terms of your talent, in terms of your desire to impact the world with your art. And that's exactly what I'm doing and I'm so proud of myself and the movie that's coming out this year. I'm so proud of it.”

The publication cleared it didn’t ask anything about her controversial post.

The actress reposted a clip from the YouTube channel On the Table detailing anti-vaccination viewpoints. Host Tomi Arayomi told the unconfirmed claims about the dangers of receiving COVID-19 vaccines.

Other social media users were furious at her post, accusing her of using the platform irresponsibly. However, Letitia Wright cleared herself when she said,

"My intention was not to hurt anyone, my ONLY intention of posting the video was it raised my concerns with what the vaccine contains and what we are putting in our bodies. Nothing else."
