Due to this, some say that the broadcast network might “neglect” the actress after only winning the Best Couple Award at the annual ceremony.
Released on September 2022, the said series was a web novel based on Love According to Law which follows the story of a former couple who becomes a prosecutor and human right lawyer.
Playing the role of fearless Kim Yuri, Lee Se Young delivered a show-stopping performance and not to mention her chemistry with Lee Seung Gi.
While her co-star bagged the Daesang award, Lee Se Young left with only one award, causing viewers to express their frustrations to KBS.
To recall, the rom-com K-drama wrapped up the season as the most successful Mon-Tue KBS drama.
For 16 consecutive weeks, The Law Cafe maintained the top spot on the popularity chart.
With this, viewers had high expectations that Lee Seung Gi and Lee Se Young will take home multiple awards for their performance in the web novel series.
Unfortunately, that is not the case for the award-winning actress.
Did KBS Overlook Lee Se Young’s Performance in The Law Cafe?
In a report cited by a media outlet, viewers were disappointed to after seeing that Lee Se Young’s name was not on the list of KBS Awards 2022 winners.
It also raised speculations that her attendance at the ceremony affected the selection of winners since the actress was wasn't able to attend the annual awards night due to a conflict in schedule.

At one point, even her co-star Lee Seung Gi hints about this and mentioned it during his acceptance speech.
“I heard ‘The Law Cafe’ was the first work on KBS to make a surplus this year. However, ‘The Law Cafe’ actors seem to be going home empty-handed today,” he said, referring to Lee Se Young.
Despite the actress failing to score multiple wins at the annual ceremony, viewers still recognized Lee Se Young;’s outstanding performance in The Law Cafe, which is worthy of major trophies.
