He first gained the public’s attention after playing the young Jung Kyung Ho in Prison Playbook. Followed by another supporting role in Thirty But Seventeen, Clean with Passion for Now and the hit K-drama starring IU, Hotel Del Luna.
Due to his charm and amazing versatility, Lee Do Hyun landed his first-ever lead role in a drama series for the 17 Again remake, 18 Again opposite Kim Ha Neul and Yoon Sang Hyun.

Lee Do Hyun Relationship: Prioritizes Work Over Love
While the 27-year-old rising star is often lauded for his flexibility to portray various roles, he once revealed that he broke up with his girlfriend for a K-drama role.
During his appearance with Esquire Korea, Lee Do Hyun recalled the time when he prioritized work over his personal life.
“The character I was playing was someone who lost the girl they love. So I told my girlfriend we should break up, so I could play the role. I really don’t know why I did that,” he explained, saying that he was about 21 or 22 at the time.
Lee Do Hyun went on and said that his then-girlfriend was shocked by his decision and even asked if he was crazy.
“But at the time, acting came first for me,” he said, adding that after the said experience, he learned and has grown a lot.
Repaying his Parents’ Debt
When asked about why he prioritizes his career over relationships, he said that he wanted to repay his parents’ sacrifices.
“It’s been a long time since both my parents have been working, and my younger brother is disabled,” he said, adding that the actor’s goal in 2020 was to repay his mom’s debt.
“I would really like it if, in 2020, my mom, dad, and Dong Hyuk could all rest from working and live off of what I earn,” he said, explaining that it would earn him peace of mind especially when he has to enlist in the army.
