Leaked Star Wars: Episode IX Title Is So Ridiculous People Think It's An Early April Fool's Joke

After the purported Star Wars: Episode IX poster found its way online, there is a brand new leak floating around, this time apparently revealing the title of the movie. However, fans are left confused, and rightfully so.

The folks over at Ain't It Cool News are claiming they know the title of the film. "Skywalkers" is what the third and final installment in the trilogy will be called, according to them. The information apparently comes from one of the website's "super secret spies" who they claim has a "close eye and hand on some cool Star Wars IX sh--e."

The title apparently hints the existence of another member of the Skywalker family fans never knew about. This would tie in with the idea that a character named "Mara," which was the name of Luke's wife in non-canon books, will be in Star Wars: Episode IX.

Ain't It Cool News says this may be a reference to what Yoda said in Empire Strikes Back about "another" even though it was heavily speculated he was talking about Leia.

Fans who like to following Star Wars news on the internet for the longest time will be familiar with this website. It was popular back in the late 1990s for writing reviews and leaking info on fantasy and science fiction entertainment.

For the galaxy far, far away, they had memorable slip-ups like The Creeping Fear being the title of Star Wars: Episode III, among many others. To their credit, they mentioned something about Concord Dawn very early on that ended up being in Star Wars: Rebels years later.

A lot of readers were quick to dismiss the leak, however, saying that it awfully sounds like an April Fool's prank that was accidentally revealed early. For one, they think it doesn't sound like a title that would be at home to the franchise even though it is literally the namesake of the heroes that the world has followed for decades. This is mostly because it is a one-word title, which doesn't really fit the Star Wars formula.

Some are convinced that this may be part of actual title. They threw in suggestions like The Skywalker Legacy or even Legend of the Skywalkers.

Rumor has it that only J.J. Abrams and a few others know the title of Star Wars: Episode IX. It apparently won't be announced at Star Wars Celebration Chicago or at least Disney and Lucasfilm are doing their best to keep it a secret before it is confirmed.
