Fans finally saw Lady Gaga in Wednesday Season 2 Part 2. Playing the role of the legendary Nevermore teacher Rosaline Rotwood, she made a brief appearance in Episode 6, titled “Woe Thyself.”
However, her short screen time—lasting only about two minutes—left some fans disappointed and puzzled about the significance of her character.
So, what role does Lady Gaga’s character play in Wednesday’s (Jenna Ortega) life in the second season? Here’s everything you need to know.
What is Lady Gaga’s Role in Wednesday Season 2?
Lady Gaga made the most of her much-anticipated guest spot (or cameo) in Wednesday Season 2 Part 2.
As Wednesday lost her vision, Grandmama (Joanna Lumley) advised her to seek Rosaline’s help. She then visited Rosaline’s grave in hopes of restoring her Raven powers and using them to find Tyler (Hunter Doohan) and his family.
Rosaline appeared as an ethereal vision in white and granted Wednesday the power she sought—but it came with dire consequences.
She warned Wednesday not to break the Raven’s Gaze, requiring her to firmly hold her palm above a burning candle.
Knowing Wednesday would do anything to regain her psychic ability, she accepted the challenge. However, the unexpected happened.
Enid (Emma Myers) suddenly arrived in a panic, accidentally breaking the vision, which resulted in the two unknowingly swapping bodies.
To resolve their Freaky Friday–style scenario, Rosaline challenged them to unravel each other’s secrets, forcing them to understand one another more deeply.
Although her appearance was brief, it delighted every Little Monster and Wednesday fan alike.
Lady Gaga even released a new song, “The Dead Dance,” for Wednesday Season 2, accompanied by a music video directed by the show’s creator and director, Tim Burton.
Will Lady Gaga be in Wednesday Season 3?
Netflix has already confirmed that Wednesday Season 3 will be in the works. With the homicidal maniac lead character set to return alongside the Addams family and her Nevermore classmates, a big question remains: will Lady Gaga also appear?
So far, the streaming giant has not released any details about the upcoming season. Given her limited participation in Season 2—only helping Wednesday regain her powers—it’s possible she may not return for the third season.
However, fans should take this assumption with a grain of salt. With a show like Wednesday and Lady Gaga’s connection to the series—thanks to the first season’s hit “Bloody Mary”—there’s always a chance she could make a reappearance.
If she does return, fans hope to see her in a longer, more significant role this time.
All episodes of Wednesday Seasons 1 and 2 are streaming on Netflix.
