Léa Seydoux Breaks Silence on Channing Tatum's Canceled Gambit Movie

Channing Tatum's casting as X-Men’s Gambit is evidently the actor's missed opportunity to join expanding universe of Marvel Studios. Initially planned to premiere in 2016, the production went through some development issues causing the film to delay. Although Tatum tried to preserve the film by tapping several directors to helm the X-Men spinoff, each of them sadly turned him down.

But what fans are most baffled about is the possibility of Channing Tatum's return to the MCU, or if there's a universe that Gambit exists after Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness opened up the concept of parallel universes. After Channing Tatum himself expressed interest in joining the franchise and resuming the Gambit film, one actress also shed some light on the scrapped X-Men spinoff.

In an interview with IndieWire, Léa Seydoux breaks silence on Channing Tatum's scrapped X-Men spinoff, Gambit. Seydoux, who's supposed to play Tatum's love interest in the film said that the spinoff originally wanted it to be a comedy, which according to the actress, 'was really good.'

"The script was really good," Seydoux said. "It had some funny bits in it, but they wanted to make more of a comedy."

"I feel that in America people have more imagination. I have been offered films very very far from what I’ve done and I’m like, ‘Oh. Interesting.’ I love to feel that I can adapt myself. For me, that’s very exotic," the actress added.

Now that the MCU is constantly expanding after several major characters have retired from the mega-franchise, it might be the perfect time to introduce new characters such as Tatum's Gambit. However, the only issue is that Gambit is originally an X-Men character, a franchise that is reportedly still in development with Marvel Studios.

Nevertheless, Marvel's constant foreshadowing hints that the X-Men might finally come soon. Given Tatum's physique that surely fits a superhero role and the actor's acclaimed career, Marvel Studios definitely should give him a call.
