Eternals star Kit Harington candidly opened up about why he decided to join the MCU after his iconic tenure as Jon Snow in Game of Thrones.

After making his MCU debut in the team-up movie, there are no plans yet to bring back Harington's Dane Whitman in another project despite the film's post-credits scene set-up on his supposed next appearance in the franchise.

Marvel Studios has no plans yet to do a sequel to Eternals as a result of the film's modest box office performance and polarizing critical reception, leaving the characters' future in limbo.

In a recent interview, Harington opened up about why he decided to join the MCU in Eternals.

He admitted that the role of Dane Whitman was not the big draw and he only signed up for the film because he felt that he "gotta do it" when he received an offer from Marvel.

"I'm not gonna pretend I took that [role] because it was different and interesting. If Marvel calls, you gotta do it," the actor quipped.

Aside from no Eternals sequel being in development at the moment, it is also unknown yet whether Harington will be brought on board to the long-gestated Blade reboot since the post-credits scene teased their connection.

In hindsight, Harington's decision was not surprising in that context since the MCU was at its peak when he joined Eternals and he was also coming off his beloved tenure in Game of Thrones.

While it remains to be seen whether he will make more appearances, many fans would love to see more of Harington in the MCU and see his character finally become the Black Knight.

Hopefully, we will get some updates on his potential MCU future soon as the plans for the characters are still uncertain.
