Kingsman Director No Longer In Talks for Man of Steel 2

With reports claiming that Henry Cavill has left the DCEU and his major role in Netflix's The Witcher, it seems like a Man of Steel 2 won't be happening anytime soon. Last year, there was some hope that there would be a sequel and that it would be directed by Kingsman and Kick-Ass director Matthew Vaughn but the man has confirmed that he is no longer in talks for the sequel.

Back in 2008, before Zack Snyder's Man of Steel entered production, Vaughn and Mark Millar actually pitched a Superman trilogy that would have been lighter and more hopeful than Man of Steel. That didn't work out and it turns out that his plans for Man of Steel 2 would have had some similar ideas, which didn't work out either.

He revealed this during an interview with Polygon and it really is a shame that Vaughn won't be working on a Superman film anytime soon. Vaughn proved that he can make good superhero films like X-Men: First Class and his work in Kingsman showed that his movies can have some great action sequences, which would have been nice to see in a Superman film.

Still, despite things not working out, Vaughn did reveal that he would like to work on a new DC film should the opportunity present itself. Until then, all we can do is wonder how Matthew Vaughn would have made Man of Steel 2.
