Kim Ji Won might become labelmates with Arthdal Chronicles co-star Song Joong Ki after the actress is reportedly in discussion to join History D&C.

The news comes after the actress’ contract with her former agency, SALT Entertainment, officially ended last June.


Kim Ji Won to possibly Join History D&C?

In a report cited by Spotvnews, the 29-year-old actress is in a discussion of signing an exclusive contract with History D&C after parting ways with SALT Entertainment.

If Kim Ji Won officially joins the talent management, she will be labelmates with Lee Jong Suk, Geum Sae Rok, Crash Landing on You actor Yang Kyung Won and more.

It can be recalled that SALT Entertainment confirmed that the Fight for My Way star has not decided to renew her contract with the agency.

As obtained by Soompi, the label released a statement announcing that Kim Ji Won is leaving the company after joining in 2020.

Best known for her role in The Heirs as Rachel Yoo, Kim Ji Won made a name for herself as one of the in-demand female leads of her generation.

From the rom-com series, Kim Ji Won proved her reign in K-drama after landing a role in the historical fantasy series Arthdal Chronicles and was reunited with Song Joong Ki.

Although the series gets the green light for another sequel, Arthdal Chronicles 2 will have new lead stars after Song Joong Ki and Kim Ji Won have declined to headline the upcoming series due to scheduling conflicts.

At the time, Studio Dragon, the production company behind the drama, told Korean media that they have selected Lee Joon Gi to replace Song Joong Ki; however, it is still under discussion.

“After in-depth discussions with the writer and production team, we proposed the role of Eun Seom in season 2 of ‘Arthdal ​​Chronicles’ to Lee Joon-gi. It is currently under review.”

After starring in Lovestruck in the City back in 2020, Kim Ji Won returned to K-dramaland with a bang as the actress dominated the airwaves with her role as Yeom Mi Jung in My Liberation Notes.

Viewers lauded her undeniable chemistry with Son Seok Koo and were even dubbed as the “worship couple” in reference to their characters.

During their pictorial for Marie Claire Korea magazine, the K-drama lead stars spoke about their experience and the viewers’ response to My Liberation Notes.

As obtained by Soompi, Son Seok Ko says that the drama gave him a different perspective on love.


“The drama gave me the feeling of confirming my thoughts on love one more time.”

As for the actress, the smash hit series gave her an “experience” that widened her range of love and made her grow as a person.

The JTBC series is one of the most well-loved K-dramas of 2022. Besides Kim Ji Won and Son Seok Koo, My Liberation Notes cast includes Lee Min Ki and Lee El as lead stars.
