Kengan Ashura Season 2 Confirmed by Netflix


Netflix has been ramping-up its production of original anime titles, and now, it seems that the before the streaming giant takes part in this year's Anime Japan, one of the platform's popular anime shows has been confirmed to get a second season.

Originally debuted in 2012, Kengan Ashura is a martial arts manga series by Yabako Sandrovich and Daromeon. It ended its run in 2018, with a sequel series titled Kengan Omega beginning immediately following the conclusion of the first series that's still ongoing. Larx Entertainment created the anime adaptation for Netflix. Currently, there are two parts (12 episodes each) for the first season of Kengan Ashura available to stream on Netflix, and as many fans expected, Season 2 has finally been confirmed!

Over on Twitter, the official Netflix Anime account announced that Kengan Ashura is getting a second season that will continue the story of Tokita Ohma's journey in the world of underground martial arts.

Netflix released the official description of Kengan Ashura, which reads: "This action anime about a young fighter in an underground tournament is based on the manga written by Yabako Sandrovich and illustrated by Daromeon."

With the confirmation of Kengan Ashura Season 2, it's likely that the voice actors for the first season will return, and that includes Tatsuhisa Suzuki, who voiced Tokita Ohma. For the English version of the anime, Ohma is voiced by Kaiji Tang, a voice actor known for voicing the iconic mentor Satoru Gojou in Jujutsu Kaisen, and the villainous Sanemi Shinazugawa in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train, and many others. In the Japanese version, Cho is the voice of Kazuo Yamashita, and in the English version, it was Keith Silverstein who voiced the salaryman.
