Kate Middleton had fun during her first visit to the England teams as patron of the Rugby Football Union (RFU). The patronage was vacated as Prince Harry was forced to return it to Queen Elizabeth II after he and his wife, Meghan Markle, decided to step down from their royal duties.

Kate Middleton Visits Twickenham Studio For New Patronage Debut

The Duchess of Cambridge wore an England rugby team outfit and studded shoes when she visited Twickenham Stadium to meet the England players Wednesday. During the visit, she took part in a training session with both men and women squads. She took the pitch with the players for two special skills sessions run by head coach Eddie Jones, Express reported.

Middleton knew that the athletes were going easy on her, and she joked, "If only it was that easy."

When she joined the mean's team, they taught her how to score a conversion kick, and Prince William's wife burst into hysterics when they lifted her into the air while trying a line-out.

The team also prepared a special present for its new royal patron. They gave Middleton three little team kits for her children Prince George, 8, Princess Charlotte, 6, and Prince Louis, 3.

Middleton made her first public engagement with the RFU just hours after Kensington Palace announced that the Duchess of Cambridge is the new royal patron of RFU and Rugby Football League. The role was previously held by her brother-in-law Prince Harry. Middleton is the first royal to take over one of the charities held by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
