JYJ Jaejoong officially decided to leave C-JeS Entertainment.

Korean media outlets reported in March that JYJ Jaejoong would not renew his exclusive contract with C-JeS upon its expiration this month. The publications added that the idol would not renew and focus on handling his activities independently.

Local news outlets, including Kuki News and Hankook Ilbo, cited C-JeS Entertainment's official statement regarding the Just Another Girl singer's decision not to renew his contract with the label.

It confirmed that Jaejoong's contract with the company would expire on April 22.

"This company has worked with Kim Jaejoong for a very long time through a relationship based on loyalty. It was an honor to work alongside Kim Jaejoong, who has received love on a global scale through his successful activities," it said. "We would like to deliver our sincerest thanks to artist Kim Jaejoong for growing along with this company."

C-JeS asked fans to continue supporting the idol-actor as he embarks on his new journey in the industry as an independent artist.

JYJ Jaejoong debuted in 2004 as a member of the then-5-member group TVXQ (DBSK). He left the group and SM Entertainment in 2009 alongside Junsu (XIA) and Yoochun.

The trio then re-debuted with the two members in JYJ.

Jaejoong's Current Career

In the past years, Jaejoong has been busy in different industries.

He released a documentary titled Jaejoong: On the Road in 2021. He was also tapped to star in the Kdrama series Bad Memory Eraser, and star in the Waru – Who said it's not cool to work? adaptation.

Earlier this year, he and Junsu marked their 20th debut anniversary through a pictorial with Cosmopolitan.

"I feel like so much time has already passed, and at the same time, I think it's also a good time to be confident that there are many things we can still do in the future," Jaejoong said.
