Justice League's Henry Cavill Campaigns for James Bond Role Despite Alleged Tom Hardy Casting

He's already the Man of Steel, Geralt of Rivia, and Sherlock Holmes but is it possible that Henry Cavill will get yet another iconic role? The Justice League star has just reignited his campaign to be the next James Bond after Daniel Craig despite previous speculations that Tom Hardy has been cast as the new 007.

In the past few years, Cavill was one of the favorites to play the legendary spy but was deemed too young to take on the role. However, a recent interview with British GQ suggested that he is now at the right age to play 007 and it looks like the Witcher star still has his eye on the part. Of course, if Bond producer Barbara Broccoli and co-producer Michael G. Wilson still want to cast him.

"If Barbara and Mike were interested in that, I would absolutely jump at the opportunity," Cavill admitted. "At this stage, it's all up in the air. We'll see what happens. But yes, I would love to play Bond, it would be very, very exciting."

Of course he would. He's already portrayed the American version of Bond (sort of) in The Man from U.N.C.L.E. so it shouldn't be much of a stretch. On the other hand, Cavill is a busy man so let's hope that he has enough spare time in his schedule to be the next 007.

It was previously reported that Hardy has already signed on to take over after Daniel Craig exits the franchise. However, there has been no official announcement from the James Bond franchise. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
