Jungle Cruise Trailer Teases Dwayne Johnson's Next Epic Adventure With Emily Blunt

The first trailer for Jungle Cruise is finally here and it just might be much more fun than the Disney ride we all know and love.

The trailer opens with Emily Blunt's Lily Houghton telling us about a legend where a magical tree in the middle of the Amazon possesses "unparalleled healing powers." Lucky for her, she has found the arrowhead that is supposed to be the key to unlocking the tree's mysteries.

This should be easy enough but there are other people who are interested in the arrowhead as well. Now it's a race against time as Lily and her brother McGregor (Jack Whitehall) try to find someone who can help them find the Tree of Life.

So who is going to help them? Frank (Dwayne Johnson) happens to be a riverboat captain who tries to make his jungle cruise a little more interesting. He also happens to be short on cash so he immediately agrees to bring Lily and McGregor to find the mysterious tree. But beware, there is danger ahead!

The premise of Jungle Cruise reads as follows:

"Set during the early 20th century, a riverboat captain named Frank takes a scientist and her brother on a mission into a jungle to find the Tree of Life which is believed to possess healing powers. All the while, the trio must fight against dangerous wild animals and a competing German expedition."

The film is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra and also stars Édgar Ramírez, Jesse Plemons, and Paul Giamatti.

Jungle Cruise will hit theaters on July 24, 2020.
