Following the announcement of the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 The Movierelease date, some fans might be wondering about Yūta Okkotsu, the movie's protagonist. The plot follows Volume 0 of the manga, which is a prequel to the main Jujutsu Kaisen series by Akutami Gege.

Yūta is the fourth second-year at Tokyo Jujutsu High alongside Panda, Maki Zenin, and Toge Inumaki. He is haunted by a special-grade curse—who was actually his childhood friend, Rika. She died in a tragic car accident and became an incredibly powerful special-grade cursed spirit. She haunted Yūta for many years, which caused him to grow up as an insecure and shy teen. Itadori and Yūta are similar in the sense that they have a powerful curse that they must learn to control.
After transferring to Tokyo Jujutsu High, Yūta learned the ropes of being a Jujutsu Sorcerer. He is ranked as a special-grade sorcerer because of Rika's monstrous power. Although even without Rika, he's still very powerful since he's a descendant of a famous vengeful spirit. He has an incredible amount of cursed energy—even greater than Gojo Satoru's. However, Gojo has the upper hand in managing his cursed energy thanks to his Six Eyes.
We haven't seen Yūta in the first season of Jujutsu Kaisen since he's somewhere else during that time. However, in the manga, he is already an important character in the story's current events. He first appears in person in Chapter 137 if you want to check it out.
Jujutsu Kaisen0 revolves around the story of Yūta and his first year at Tokyo Jujutsu High as he learns to control Rika and his cursed energy. We're also going to see the first-year selves of Inumaki, Panda, and Maki, who looked pretty different back then. (They're adorable.)
