Jujutsu Kaisen 0 Set to Win Big with US$19M Opening Box Office

There is little doubt that anime fans have been anticipating the release of Jujutsu Kaisen 0 across the globe. But will it be enough for the prequel film to dominate the North American box office on its opening weekend? The movie based on Gege Akutami's manga is currently expected to bring in over $19 million and is in the running to break The Batman's winning streak!

Jujutsu Kaisen 0 already made an impressive $5.7 million from the Thursday night previews and Friday haul. Now Deadline predicts that the anime film will finish the weekend with a solid $19 million. This is an amazing feat similar to Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie - Mugen Train, which brought in $21.2 million on its opening weekend in April last year.

But is it possible that Jujutsu Kaisen 0 will actually defeat The Batman this weekend? The report points out that the Robert Pattinson movie is already expected to bring in $36.8 million this weekend and will complete its third week in the box office with $300.1 million. It's a far stretch for the anime film but it will still finish at a cool second place in the domestic box office.
