After his visit to the king, Han-Soo brought himself out for a drink. While he was enjoying his time alone, he saw Chu-Sal begging a woman to take care of a baby he was holding.

It turned out that Lord Won's followers tortured Chu-Sal's older brother to death over a piece of land. Chu-Sal’s brother cleared the wasteland within three years, and when he expected it to be his own property, Lord Won stole the land from him.

Han-Soo claimed that the three years had not yet passed, therefore Lord Won was not legally able to get the land from Chu-Sal’s brother. However, the tenant farmers who would testify against Lord Won were put in a difficult situation as their family members were held hostage if they didn't commit perjury.

Despite all this, Han-Soo thought of a different way to win the case. When Executive Minister Yoo attempted to forge the transfer of deed contract, Han-Soo knew that he had to fight with a smarter approach.

Han-Soo declared that he would give up the lawsuit. He told Magistrate Yoo that the farmers brought the land back to its old state, tricking Lord Woo into surrendering the land deed. In reality, the land remained the same.

The complicated relationship between the two continued until Ssal-Bab’s first birthday, when Yeon-Joo attempted to leave a gift for the baby. Han-Soo saw it and brought it back to her immediately, warning her of the promise to never get acquainted with each other anymore.

Meanwhile, Han-Soo suddenly wanted to visit his younger sister, Eun-Soo. However, when he entered the place, he saw Ji-Sun. Eun-Soo, who was hiding from her brother, begged Ji-Sun to get back inside.
