In the second episode, Saya is sent on a mission to retrieve a woman who possesses many government secrets in her mind, which makes her dangerous to leave alive. Saya tries to lead her to safety, going as far as promising to protect her and her child, but in the end, she is unable to keep that promise.

Joran is off to an absolutely mesmerizing start, and it's hard to imagine how this series is going to be able to get through the entire season without running out of steam first. Breathtaking is another word you can use to describe this one.
Political intrigue can sometimes be a boring topic to cover in anime, especially when it is treading familiar ground. In this case, however, the series is proving all the more interesting with its alternate Taisho era history. This allows the series a new sense of freedom that it never would've had before.
Joran continues to be a winning series this season, and I'm going to keep looking forward to each new episode so long as they keep putting out winners like this.
