Jon Snow's Game Of Thrones Season 8 Poster Hints At Ned Stark Similarity

A new series of posters for Game of Thrones Season 8 has just been unveiled and it features most of the characters seated on the Iron Throne. However, fans are freaking out over the Jon Snow poster because of its striking resemblance to an image of Ned Stark.

There's nothing particularly unusual about the Jon Snow poster other than the fact that he is sitting on the Iron Throne. After all, this would suggest that Jon will head for the Red Keep and become the new ruler of the Seven Kingdoms. However, a post on Reddit points out that Jon's poster looks a lot like Ned's own Season 1 poster (via Cosmopolitan). Take a look at the comparison below.

It's certainly a similar pose, especially with both holding Valyrian steel swords. Ned certainly is someone that Jon looked up to and fans always point out that the two characters have the same beliefs. But could it also mean that Jon will suffer the same fate as Ned?

In the first season, people were rooting for Ned to become the new king of Westeros. However, the character was unceremoniously beheaded right before the season finale.

It's a horrifying thought considering that Jon has been through so much in the past. Hopefully, Jon and Daenerys Targaryen will both manage to survive all the way to the end of the series.

Game of Thrones Season 8 will be the final season for the series but HBO is already working on a prequel show that will still be set in Westeros. In the meantime, the final season will air on April 14.
